At ACNR we believe that successful protection of natural heritage cannot happen without the support of the local population. This is why ACNR projects particularly focus on the creation of environmental awareness and ecologically friendly capacity building. The organization currently coaches 14 Nature Clubs and 9 Site Support Groups (SSG). At our Nature Clubs at schools and universities students deal with environmental issues from an early age, be it in form of maintaining a school garden, waste management or cultural activities related to the topic. With Site Support Groups near endangered ecosystems ACNR strives to improve livelihoods through the introduction of sustainable ways of income; for example ecological beekeeping near Nyungwe
