A message of our new Natur Club 'Fragrance' published the 19th May 2011

My name is Pascale KUNDA, a Rwandan of 12 years old. I am a member of a young Nature Club "The Fragrance" affiliated to the Association pour la Conservation de la Nature au Rwanda (ACNR). Since 2010, I joined the network of "Friends of Albertine Rift" because I love the nature so much and my parents are naturally the nature lovers.
When I get out in nature, I feel pretty, very peaceful and more alive than in city and it reminds me the story of Eden in holy bible. In nature, I want to see, touch, hear and smell everything and it seems that everything there is ready to do the same for me. It’s impressive and amazing!
Particularly, I like birds. They have beautiful colours. Vocally, they are very good singers. When you watch birds going to their respective homes, crossing each other, some coming here others going there, it’s extremely wonderful! On 15th May 2011, I had a chance to participate in the World Migratory Bird Day together with other Rwandan nature lovers. I saw how the nature is beautiful to see it. It was the first time for me to leave my home for the only purpose to watch birds in nature.
By the time we were enjoying birds, I have thought that I am blessed to be born in the most species rich region in the world, the Albertine Rift. Oh! Wow!! But, I also thought if our nature is not well preserved, it is very sad for the future generations who will not have the natural things to enjoy as we have today.
